Carol Hurt's Projects - Sampler #3

“Capri” Sweater

This sweater, made with Lavender Tahki Capri (100% cotton ribbon), is from Vogue Spring & Summer 2001, page 55. I needed 5” more for the finished bust....so I added 10 stitches to each piece (multiple of 7 + 3). Total of 16 balls and size 11 needles. I got a lavender cotton camisole at JCPenney's to wear underneath :) The pullover is fairly heavy but will be great to wear in the Spring and early Fall.

Dolcino Zen

Carol's Dolcino “Zen”

Carol's version of the “Zen” sweater is knitted from electric blue Trendsetter Dolcino from The Yarn Lady. Gaby Monson (the yarn lady) offers this pattern, one of her own designs, for sale on her website .

I needed a finished size 50”. So, with the Dolcino, I used size 11 needles and did 11 pattern repeats. The gusset on the sides measured 3”. I made the sleeves a total of 36 rows instead of the recommended 24 rows for sleeve “bands.” This is a lightweight, expandable top and I will get a lot of wear out of it.

See Jill Delgado's “Unzen” version of this sweater, and Carol Myers' Zen version
