Kate Winkler’s Braids Cardigan

This is the “Braids” Cardigan from Cabin Fever. Kate knit her sweater during the Fall 2002 Ample-Knitters Braids Project. See the Braids Project pages for more details.

Kate knit her sweater with Lorna’s Laces Fisherman in (nearly-solid) Pine. She writes: “I love Lorna’s yarn -- I have knit several models for her, and this is my second sweater for myself in her yarn. Her sock & shawl yarns are wonderful, too. I found pewter, dragon-biting-its-tail buttons at the LYS where I work, and they are perfect!

I did the worsted weight version, with the vents, but I shortened it considerably: I’m just a hair over 5 feet tall at the beginning of the day, and if I’d made the longer version as written, it would have come halfway to my knees!”
